    Description

Vintage “Heidi” German-Austrian Dirndl Dress w/ Flowered Velveteen Bodice 1940s-1950s
Gorgeous authentic dirndl dress much like the one worn by Shirley Temple in the 1937 movie “Heidi”.
It has a forest green wool skirt trimmed with red rick rack and a velvet ribbon.
The floral embroidered cotton velveteen bodice has a center hook and eye closure with lacing over it to snug the fit.
The red lacing cord is not original to the dress.
The oxidized metal lacing hooks appear to be silver or silver-plated, but are unmarked and could easily be nickel plated brass.
There are some age discolorations on the muslin lining of the bodice (see photo 8) not visible on the outside of the garment. If the wool skirt is held up to the light it appears that several small pinholes were mended at some time in the past. Again, not visible from the outside. This is true vintage, sturdily made and still very wearable.
The tag reads “Trachtenhaus Perfaller” and “St. Wolfgang”.
No size is given so please see the pictures above and the measurements below”
    waist to hem: 11 1/2”
    total length:
    22”
bodice:  (meant to be worn over a blouse or sweater)
chest under arms: adjustable with lacing, 25” to 28”
waist: adjustable with lacing, 22” to 24”
